C&C Beta screenshots

Beach Landing:
Taken from the extras DVD of the First Decade. It shows a beta version of the first GDI mission. The minigunners seem to have different colours than in the final version.
The four tabs on top are "Tactical", "Options", "Database" and the credits. The "Database" tab might have been for an in-game listing of units and structures like the Mentat function in Dune II.

Beach assault:
From TFD as well. This shows that the Guard Tower was originally owned by Nod too.
Also note that where the final C&C1 had an entire tab-like button to open the sidebar, this beta only had the small square button you see in the top right corner.

Construction Yard
Another TFD one. Shows the construction yard with the GDI logo on top. The concrete under buildings was actually a road-like map tile in these early versions, which also meant the terrain was irreversibly changed by placing a building. The tile remained in the game files, but is never used.
Note the Upgrade button on the sidebar, which gets replaced by a Sell button in later versions.

Refinery
Another TFD one. It seems the Guard Tower was fully remap back then, and owned by both sides.

GDI flame tank
This is from a german C&C trailer. Oddly enough, it shows a GDI-owned Flame Tank, which is, again, full remap. Also, the Mammoth tank missiles seem to have an incredible range.
In the top right corner you can see the notorious 'C&C1 UFO'.

Nod base
Also from the German trailer, this shows a Nod base, with the nice double Nod remap (grey + red) shown on the refinery. Also note the blinking arrows on the refinery seem to be remap as well.
The lowest unit icon shows an odd picture of a tank seen from the side instead of in perspective.

Village
From MultiMedia Joker 07-08/95.
A good quality image of the same game version as the one from the trailer. This shows the civilian buildings also had the early version of what would later become the concrete bibs. In this image you see how these "driveways" destroyed the original road tiles in the village.

Mammoth vs Infantry
From MultiMedia Joker 07-08/95.
This is clearly from the same scene as the GDI flame tank pic above. It shows that the "driveway" tiles you see in the first pic are actually from a SAM site hiding behind a tree.

GDI base
From MultiMedia Joker 07-08/95.
A very nice shot of a GDI base in the beta version, showing the hole in the top of the refinery, and the logo on the open Construction Yard.

C&C: The Covert Operations Beta screenshots

Infiltrated:
I found this one on the old Covert Ops site before WW went down. It was also shown on the back of my Covert Operations box.
The image shows the starting situation of the GDI Covert Operations mission "Infiltrated!", only in the mission there are far less units battling in the base.

Blindsided:
An image that made its way around the internet in the early days, notably with its transparency messed up. I fixed it for this upload.
This shows an airstrike-assisted assault on one of the two final enemy bases in the GDI Covert Operations mission "Blindsided".

Hostile Takeover:
An image I had never seen before, but which had the same transparency error as the Blindsided one.
The base visible in this image is the one from the Nod Covert Operations mission "Hostile Takeover".
