| Appearance: | A heavily built scotsman, blue eyes and white hair. Approaching seventy. Bristly beard. Wears full heavy armour when in battle, and often when out of it.

| Personality: | Cairns is zealous and pious, although also somewhat impulsive and hot-tempered. He yells often, and swears even more than that. However, he is also a very valuable member of the Church of Light inquisition, given his indomitable attitude, and his hard-as-nails fighting capabilties.

| Background: | Cairns grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, at the turn of the century. As a teenage, he witnessed the beginnings of goblinisation, and due to his distrust in his families christianity, he turned to the new doctrine of the Church of Light. His potential was soon realised, and he was recruited into the very beginnings of the Inqusition, where he met Cynthia Stormcrow, later to become head of the Church. He later rose to the rank of Lord High Inquisitor, following the assasination of his predecessor and mentor, Inquisitor Josef Edenrite, by agents from the Papal State.
